Both great sharks and whale sharks belong to the category of sharks. However, there are wide differences among them, ranging from their appearance, habitat, diet, and so on. Also, while one is considered to be highly aggressive, the other is non-aggressive and does not pose any threat to humans.

Although goblin sharks and great white sharks are sharks, there are significant differences between them. These two sharks are not the same. While we consider one a living fossil, the other is an apex predator of the waters and is pretty ferocious.

One of the foremost contrasts between a great white shark and a blue whale is that the latter is the largest animal. And although great whites are amongst the bigger sharks, they are way smaller than blue whales. Moreover, their appearances are pretty different, making it easy to differentiate.

 Some sharks can indeed jump. In fact, sharks have been known to leap as high as 15 feet into the air, though usually the height doesn’t exceed three or four feet. They don’t use this tactic often, and it mainly occurs when a large shark has its sights set on an especially desirable meal and doesn’t feel like waiting until it swims by itself, which could take hours or even days in some cases.

Great white sharks are a shark species, whereas orcas (also known as killer whales) are from the dolphin family. Each of these animals has a distinct coloration which makes it easy for a commoner to differentiate between them. Although these animals vary greatly, there are several points of comparison between them.

Bull sharks are infamous for being aggressive and can be found in shallow coastal waters in warm climates. This species has reported several coastline shark bites. On the other hand, Tiger sharks are the only extant species of Galeocardo. Excluding the Mediterranean Sea, these sharks can be found in temperate and tropical waters.

Killer whales are essentially toothed whales, whereas blue whales belong to the baleen whale family. As such, while killer whales can bite into their prey and tear it apart, blue whales can only use their baleen plate to sift their food through water. Besides, killer whales and blue whales have different coloration too.

Both basking sharks and great white sharks are massive creatures with distinct characteristics. There are, however, significant differences between the two species, including size, appearance, nutrition, and lifespan. In addition, one is bulkier and a filter feeder, and the other is smaller yet voracious.

Humpback whales are smaller than blue whales and are of a deeper blue color. Humpbacks also weigh much less and carry a hump on their backs which makes them stand out. On the other hand, blue whales have a mottled body, are bigger, and live longer. 

Hammerhead sharks have hammer-shaped heads and are one of the endangered shark species. There are two sorts of hammerheads: one with standard size and another with a larger size, known as great hammerheads. On the contrary, Great White sharks are one of the most vicious and aggressive shark species. Therefore, they are classified as apex predators.
